Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Grendine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hassan Al Sumal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hassan Al Sumal!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Sumal lands with a nice combination. Grendine backs away looking to recover.
Al Sumal scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Grendine moves out of range as Al Sumal strikes.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Grendine.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Grendine seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Al Sumal for as long as he can get away with.
Grendine is looking to take a break and control but Al Sumal is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Al Sumal can't do much from the bottom here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Grendine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Al Sumal keeps working.
Al Sumal is trying to control Grendine's posture but Grendine avoids it.
Grendine takes a little break here. Al Sumal wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Grendine has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Al Sumal has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Grendine gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Al Sumal changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Grendine fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Grendine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Al Sumal was covering up waiting for the punch and Grendine finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Grendine is working for a guillotine from mount but Al Sumal frees his head quite easily.
Jason Grendine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Grendine avoids the attempt from Al Sumal to control.

Grendine jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Al Sumal manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Grendine creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Al Sumal sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jason Grendine showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Grendine, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
