Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Sabin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morbius Zod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tim Sabin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Sabin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Morbius Zod!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabin shoots in for a takedown but Zod shows good takedown defense.
Sabin dives in and grabs Zod's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zod pushes down on Sabin's head and hops out.
Tim Sabin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zod looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Sabin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sabin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zod defends it nicely.
Morbius Zod is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zod throws a looping overhand right but Sabin ducks down to avoid it.
Sabin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Zod.
Zod swings for the body but Sabin moves out of range.
Zod will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Zod slaps away a takedown attempt from Sabin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Some wild striking there from Zod.
Sabin throws a head kick that misses.
Zod missing with a left hand there. Sabin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sabin wants to clinch up but Zod keeps it at a distance.

Sabin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zod avoids it really well and circles away.

Sabin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zod sprawls well initially but Sabin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Zod is trying to stand up here but Sabin is controlling him well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Zod is looking to control Sabin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Zod avoid being mounted?
Sabin stops Zod from getting back to his feet.

Zod has one foot on Sabin's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Sabin shoots in for a takedown but Zod shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Zod takes a swing at Sabin's ribcage but misses.
Sabin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zod.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sabin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Zod.
Sabin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zod but Zod pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sabin tries to clinch but Zod moves out of range.
Zod throws a right and a left that both miss.

Sabin is trying to get an arm triangle but Zod is defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Zod misses with a body shot.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Sabin throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Zod listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Zod swats away the attempt to clinch by Sabin.
Tim Sabin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sabin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Zod takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Sabin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zod tries to avoid it but Sabin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zod to the ground. Zod escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zod really wants to buck Sabin off and get back to his feet.
Sabin cracks Zod with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Sabin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zod on the ground.

Zod wants to hold on but Sabin pushes him away.
Zod squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Sabin looking to control and managing it successfully.
Zod is trying to stand.

Sabin is working for a guillotine from mount but Zod frees his head quite easily.

Morbius Zod has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Zod gets back to half guard.
Zod pushes Sabin off but Sabin dives into side control.
Zod tries to escape but Sabin is in control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tim Sabin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sabin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Well Sabin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
