Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Freeman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mauricio Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rua pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Freeman is keeping the position for now.
Rua is stalling in the full guard.
Rua won't allow Freeman to get back to his feet.
Rua is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rua passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Rua landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Rua wants to control but Freeman is keeping him busy.
Freeman tries to bench press Rua off him but Rua keeps the position.
Rua just content to control the position.
Rua trying to control the position but Freeman is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Freeman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rua misses with a straight right.
Mauricio Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nice defenses there by Freeman.
Rua is trying hard to land a takedown here. Freeman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Freeman looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rua escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Freeman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rua is breathing heavily.

Freeman trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Freeman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rua's guard.
Freeman drops back looking for a leg! Rua is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rua manages to kick Freeman off! Freeman jumps back into Rua's guard.
Freeman controls from within his opponent's guard.
Freeman trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rua seems keen to control Freeman's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rua can't keep his opponent in guard - Freeman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rua is looking to improve his position.
Rua moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rua is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Freeman is aware though and is defending well.
Freeman is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Rua has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Freeman is looking to defend but Rua has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Freeman! Rua pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Freeman taps out and this one is all over!
