The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stalin throws a quick inside leg kick.
Stalin throws a leg kick which misses Dong's front leg but catches the back leg as Dong tries to avoid it.
Jab, jab by Stalin - just one landing.

Dong forces Stalin back against the cage and clinches.
Dong has Stalin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stalin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Stalin manages to break the clinch.

Dong shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Stalin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Stalin throws a right and a left that Dong avoids nicely.

Brosif Stalin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stalin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Stalin postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dong to stand up.
Dong scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Dong misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stalin feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dong's calf.
Stalin lands a nice shot to the body.

Stalin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dong.
Dong tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stalin swivels and escapes.
Dong is breathing heavily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dong.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stalin pinned against the cage. Stalin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Stalin drives through and clinches with Dong against the cage.
Stalin with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Stalin breaks the clinch.
Dong closes the distance but Stalin moves to the side
and Stalin counters with a two punch combo.

Dong takes an elbow to the forehead.
Stalin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dong has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Stalin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Stalin counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Dong tries to keep at a distance but Stalin has taken the fight into the clinch.

Stalin is trying to trip Dong. He has hold of a leg but Dong is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Stalin persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Stalin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dong, up you get!
Dong throws a nice looking combination but Stalin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Stalin throws a one two combo.
Stalin goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Stalin tries to bum rush Dong with a series of wild strikes but Dong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dong looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Stalin moves into the clinch successfully.
Stalin landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Stalin stalls.

Stalin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stalin lands with a thumping leg kick.

Dong looks to land a combination but Stalin avoids it well.

Stalin forces Dong back against the cage and clinches.

Stalin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dong is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Stalin misses with a few strikes there.
Dong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stalin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dong moves forwards but Stalin connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Stalin rushes Dong and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Stalin unloads a knee to the mid-section. Dong lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Stalin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Good leg kick by Stalin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Stalin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Stalin is taking a breather. Dong says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Stalin decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brosif Stalin dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Stalin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dong tries to avoid it but Stalin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dong to the ground. Dong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stalin moves away from the strike by Dong.
Brosif Stalin seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Stalin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stalin showed some decent athleticism there.
