PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Swan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vega is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Jay Z- Brooklyn We Go Hard. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega walks into a left hand.
Vega tries to clinch up.
Swan fails to land with a series of punches.
No joy there for Swan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Swan lands with an uppercut that bounces Vega off the cage and back into rage.
Swan circles away from the clinch attempt.
A left and a right from Swan both land. Nice combination.
Vega tries to clinch but Swan is having none of it.
Vega tries to clinch there but Swan circles away.
Vega tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Swan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Damian Swan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Swan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Vega tries to clinch there but Swan circles away.

Swan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vega moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Vega tries to close the distance and clinch but Swan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Swan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Vega tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Swan is trying to force a seperation but Vega has the dominant position.

Swan throws a combination. Vega tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Swan moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Swan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vega looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Swan works Vega's body with a nice hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Swan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Vega takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Swan moves into range and clinches up with Vega.

Swan pulls guard.
Swan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Swan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Vega won't allow Swan to sweep him here.
Vega wants to stand and escape but instead Swan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Swan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Swan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Swan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vega smiles and moves away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Swan counters with a left and a right that stings Vega.
Swan is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Swan scores with a one two! Vega had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Vega is rocked!
Swan is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Vega hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
