Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damien Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Gailfus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodney Gailfus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damien Gracie!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Gailfus!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gailfus defends it nicely.
Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gailfus avoids it really well and circles away.
Gracie avoids the head kick by Gailfus.
Gailfus misses with a body kick.
Gailfus throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gailfus.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gailfus.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Gailfus moves into the clinch.

Gailfus has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gracie uses from the top position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gailfus can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gailfus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Gailfus's legs - danger averted.

Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gailfus for as long as he can get away with.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Damien Gracie just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Gailfus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gracie but Gracie pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gailfus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gailfus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gracie throws and low kick but Gailfus moves out of range easily.

Gracie seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gailfus should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Gailfus should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
