The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mekhar keeps the fight on the outside.
Kikuno takes a swing at Mekhar's ribcage but misses.
Mekhar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kikuno is fending him off so far but Mekhar persists. Nope, Kikuno circles away and we're back to standing.
Kikuno wants to clinch up but Mekhar keeps it at a distance.

Mekhar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kikuno smiles and moves away.
Mekhar shoots in for a double leg but Kikuno sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mekhar is defended easily by Kikuno.
Kikuno ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kikuno looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kikuno tries to close the distance and clinch but Mekhar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kikuno clinches up against the cage.
Mekhar jumps guard but Kikuno stands there with Mekhar around his waist. Mekhar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mekhar fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mekhar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kikuno just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kikuno lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mekhar backwards.

Kikuno makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mekhar looks gassed!
A nice left hand lands by Kikuno.

Mekhar is rocked!
Kikuno throws a big uppercut that drops Mekhar! More strikes from Kikuno and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Mekhar lies dazed against the cage as Kikuno celebrates with his cornermen!
