PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oroku Saki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson has chosen AFI - Totalimmortal as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Saki lands in his opponent's guard.
Saki wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving.

Saki wants to take a breather but Nelson is having none of it.
Nelson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Saki's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Saki's back!

Nelson looking to break Saki's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Saki remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Nelson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Nelson is trying to stick to Saki's back but Saki is turning into Nelson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Nelson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Saki.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Saki drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nelson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Saki has Nelson in his guard.

Nelson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Saki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nelson, into his guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nelson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Nelson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
