PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Martin King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Hais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hais is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Time to Say Goodbye by Bocelli & Brightman. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin King!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Vladimir Hais!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hais throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
King tries to clinch up.
King lands with a nice body kick.
King misses with a straight left.
King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hais.
Hais takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Hais shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hais showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hais wants to control but King is keeping him busy.

Hais is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. King doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hais.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hais goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, King rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hais's guard! Nice work there by King!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round but I would say that Martin King will probably get the nod.

King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hais paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and King counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hais shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with King but King pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Martin King.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
