Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between iron man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, iron man!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe scores with a spinning back kick!
man doesn't manage to clinch there - Doe circles away.
A thudding body kick lands there by Doe!
man shoots in and drives through. Doe sprawls well.

Doe feints and as man raises his hands in defense, Doe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Doe drops back looking for a leg! man is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and man manages to kick Doe off! Doe jumps back into man's guard.
man throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
man controls Doe momentarily but Doe frees himself.
man working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Doe.

Doe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Doe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
man wants to sweep here but Doe controlling him for the moment.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as man holds on and takes a little breather.

man is trying to control the position but Doe postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

man fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Doe sprawls well initially but man persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
man is looking to advance position but Doe won't allow it.
Doe misses with some strikes from the bottom.
man is keen to just control but Doe is a slippery customer.
Doe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

man wants to take a breather but Doe is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

man rushes Doe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Doe has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but man regains guard immediately.

Doe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Doe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Doe looks gassed!

Doe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! man is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! man has escaped and now he's on top!

man is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
man trying to control but Doe is working from the bottom.

Doe can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as man controls the pace.
man won't allow Doe to sweep him here.
man trying to control the position from guard on top but Doe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Doe keeping full guard, as man tries to pass.
man cracks Doe with a solid left hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Doe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and man counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Doe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. man defends it easily.
man trying to control but Doe is working from the bottom.

man working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
man sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Doe's guard.
man is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Doe is refusing to be controlled, as man sits in half guard.
man will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
man winds up and cracks Doe with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
man stalling.

man seems to be working for a kimura but Doe defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! man's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

man shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Doe looking for a kimura from the bottom but man passes into side control!
man is looking to take a break and control but Doe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Doe is trying to improve his position.
Doe is breathing heavily.

Doe is trying to escape the position but man is controlling the position.

man decides to stand up, so the ref orders Doe to his feet.

man moves into the clinch.
man jumps guard but Doe stands there with man around his waist. man gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on man's face as he tries to break the clinch.
man drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Doe gets the underhooks and prevents it.

man is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

man drags the fight down to the ground.
Doe wanted to stand there but man had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doe wants to stand and escape but instead man has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
man controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
man has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
man throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
man trying to control the position from guard on top but Doe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
man is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Doe keeping moving, preventing man from controlling successfully.
man is really struggling to control Doe but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Doe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
man tries to hold on but Doe postures up.
iron man overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
man regains half guard.
man is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Doe moves into full mount! man won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doe is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Doe stands up.

Doe closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Doe is pressing down on man's thigh, looking to free his foot. man is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

man moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
man shoots and misses

and Doe counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Doe prevents man from improving his position.
man has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Doe is working away from the top position though.
man is trying to get back to full guard.
man lands with a few short shots to the body.

Doe is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, man has managed to free his arm - good work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Doe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
man is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Doe stands up from man's guard - Doe perhaps looking for a knockout.
man throws a nice looking combination but Doe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Doe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Doe is looking to take a break and control but man is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Doe wants to stand up but man has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Doe trying to control from man's half guard. man has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Doe content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because man has locked up a guillotine! man's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Doe is holding on here and man must be using up a lot of energy. Doe has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! man gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
