PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Macapinlac Co (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Macapinlac Co!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Tucker!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Co is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Co shoots in looking for a takedown. Tucker tries to sprawl out of it but Co keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tucker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tucker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Co tries to clinch up.

Co tries to keep at a distance but Tucker has taken the fight into the clinch.
Tucker trying to land knees to the body.
Tucker blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Tucker creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Co's defenses.


It looks like Macapinlac Co has been cut.
Co goes for a takedown attempt but Tucker pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Macapinlac Co. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Co on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Tucker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Co throws out the jab.
Co shoots for a double leg takedown but Tucker sprawls well. He's pushed Co's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tucker wants to clinch but Co slips to the side

and Co counters with a single leg into guard. Tucker didn't expect that.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tucker wants to stand but Co is controlling the position.
Co postures up in Tucker's guard and throws a big left but Tucker blocks it.
Co throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Co wants to pass the guard but Tucker is keeping the position.
Co postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Co scoring with some ground and pound.
Tucker keeping moving, preventing Co from controlling successfully.
Tucker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Co is controlling him.
Co working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tucker wants to get back to his feet but Co is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Co throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Co drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tucker dives on top into guard.

Tucker stands up from Co's guard - Tucker perhaps looking for a knockout.
Tucker keeps the fight on the outside.
A head kick misses from Tucker.
Tom Tucker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Co shoots for a double leg takedown but Tucker sprawls well. He's pushed Co's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tucker looks to clinch

and Co counters by clinching up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Co working Tucker over with knees to the body.
Tucker connects with a nasty looking knee right to Co's face.
Co is breathing heavily.
Co tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tucker just stands there and leans against the cage.
Co jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tucker walks away with a smile on his face. Co gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Tucker lands a big uppercut and Co crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Co looks OK. Tucker waves Co back to his feet!


Co is rocked!
Tucker dances in with a quick combination. Co is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Tucker snaps Co's head back. Co stumbles backwards against the cage. Tucker steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Co's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Co just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tom Tucker!
Tom Tucker is the new middleweight champion!
