Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tim Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Taylor scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Jimmy Johnson has been cut.

Taylor tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it.
Taylor fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Taylor as he jumps to the side.
Johnson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Taylor's head.
Taylor throws a right hand that Johnson ducks under and follows up with a left that Johnson also avoids with ease.

Taylor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Johnson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Taylor looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Taylor looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Taylor!
Johnson is looking to regain half guard here but Taylor keeps moving and retains side control.

Taylor could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Johnson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Taylor moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson has his foot on Taylor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Taylor works his way back into a safe position though.

Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Taylor is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Taylor's back instead.

Johnson takes the fight into the clinch.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Johnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
