PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalidov has chosen Gigi D' Agostino- Blablabla as his entrance music. Mamed Khalidov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mamed Khalidov!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie blocks a head kick by Khalidov.
Khalidov throws and low kick but Gracie moves out of range easily.
Khalidov throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.
Khalidov keeps the fight on the outside.
Gracie showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Khalidov.

Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Khalidov looking for submissions off his back.
Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Khalidov defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khalidov is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gracie sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Khalidov defending well though.
Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Well, if Gracie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Khalidov tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Khalidov won't be happy with that.

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Khalidov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Khalidov is looking for a sweep.
Khalidov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gracie is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Khalidov looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gracie gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Khalidov is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gracie lets go of the hold and Khalidov can pop his arm back in it's socket.
