Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Raven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ambrosio Gastelu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raven comes to the cage accompanied by Bleed it Out by Linkin Park. James Raven looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raven tries to clinch but Gastelu moves out of range.
Gastelu circles away from the clinch attempt.
Raven is looking to clinch but Gastelu is avoiding it.
Gastelu lands a nice leg kick that just misses Raven's sensitive parts.

and Raven counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Raven.
Raven is breathing heavily.

Raven avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gastelu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Gastelu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Raven gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Raven won't allow Gastelu to sweep him here.

Gastelu is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Raven is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Raven throws a strike but Gastelu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Gastelu has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Raven is proving hard to escape from.
Gastelu wants to control from the top but Raven keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gastelu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gastelu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gastelu tries to free his leg and advance position but Raven is retaining full guard.

Raven working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gastelu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gastelu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Raven holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gastelu lands a nice elbow.

It looks like James Raven has been cut.

Gastelu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Raven uses from the top position.
Gastelu controls Raven momentarily but Raven frees himself.

Gastelu has his foot on Raven's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Raven works his way back into a safe position though.
