Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lions Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Flett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lions Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Flett!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flett waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Head.
Flett throws a nice looking combination but Head bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Head misses with a looping left.
Flett fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Flett throws a right and a left that Head avoids nicely.
Flett swings for the body but Head moves out of range.
Flett avoids the body shot from Head.
Head keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Flett.

Flett gets a takedown into half guard.
Head is staying active underneath Flett, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Head gets back to full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Flett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Head tries to strike from the bottom.
Flett slips nicely into half guard.
Head flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Flett wants to advance to full mount but Head doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Head escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Flett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flett with a flurry of punches that miss.
Head is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Flett trying to control the position from guard on top but Head is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Head has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Flett is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Head.

Flett lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Flett looks up at the clock and then as Head takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Flett smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Head is looking to regain half guard here but Flett keeps moving and retains side control.

Flett cracks Head with a big right hand but Head just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Flett lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Flett swings around for an armbar but Head sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Flett's guard.
Head wants to pass the guard but Flett is keeping the position.
Flett is trying to control the position but Head postures up.
Flett looking to hit a scissor sweep but Head is one step ahead there.

Flett looking for a guillotine here but Head defends easily.

Flett looks gassed!

Head sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Flett's guard.
Head trying to mount his opponent but Flett defends it.

Head is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Flett defends it well.
Flett wants to control but Head is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Flett wants to get back to full guard.

Head seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Head is working for a submission of some sort.
Flett tries to get to full guard but Head has control of the leg.
Head moves into full mount! Flett won't be happy about that!
Flett is looking to improve his position but Head isn't that keen on the idea.

Head is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Flett to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Flett shrugs it off.
Head tries to control but Flett wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Flett dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Head slips a straight right by Flett.
Head will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Flett staying out of range there.
Head on the wrong end of a nice jab.


It looks like Lions Head has been cut.
Head stuffs the takedown attempt from Flett. Flett gets slowly back to his feet.
Some wild striking there from Flett.
Head dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Head cracks Flett with an open hand slap.


It looks like Dan Flett has been cut.
Head falls off balance throwing a combination

and Flett counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Head is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Flett wants to pass to mount but Head is defending the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Flett thows a huge punch but Head dodges it nicely.

Head is trying to get back to full guard.
Flett moves nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Head tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Flett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Flett working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Head manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Flett drops an elbow to the side of Head's head.
Flett not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Head is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Flett looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Head with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Flett is nestled in close to Head, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Head takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Flett ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Head moves away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Lions Head is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Flett fails with a takedown attempt.
Head jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Flett uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Head.
Flett steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Head.
Lions Head is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Head defending well as Flett loads up on a big left hand.
Head takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Head misses with a double jab.
Head drops his hands momentarily and Flett takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Head misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Flett.
Flett cracks Head with a right hand to the side of the head.
Head throws a jab when Flett was well out of range.

Dan Flett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Flett ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Flett shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Head is trying to defend but Flett finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Head tries to roll over but Flett keeps him under control.
Flett landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Head won't allow Flett to pass to mount.
Flett looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Head is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Flett pulls his head out easily.

Flett is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Head doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Flett.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Flett seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Flett scores with a one two! Head had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Head is rocked!
Flett connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Oh Head is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Flett connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Head! He's out on his feet! Flett rushes in and drops Head with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dan Flett!
