The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turtchin leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Turtchin did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Turtchin throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.

Johnson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Turtchin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Turtchin!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
