The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis works over Ulanov's head and body with a nice combination.
Davis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ulanov but Ulanov pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Davis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ulanov's waist but Ulanov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Ulanov tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ulanov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ulanov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ulanov is looking to stand up but Davis isn't so interested in that idea.

Davis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Davis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ulanov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Davis's hands.

Ulanov might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ulanov can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ulanov connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Davis tumbling to the canvas! Ulanov pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Davis was done - good stoppage!
