Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Venkman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cedric Wright!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Venkman looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Wright goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Venkman turns into him and now he's in Wright's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wright is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Wright has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Venkman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wright working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Venkman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Venkman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wright looking to hit a scissor sweep but Venkman is one step ahead there.
Wright is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cedric Wright dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Venkman throws out a leg kick but Wright moves out of range and Venkman only half commits.

Venkman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Venkman is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Wright has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Venkman is looking to defend but Wright has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Venkman! Wright pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Venkman taps out and this one is all over!
