Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Randlepex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randlepex has chosen Barbie Girl as his entrance music. James Johnson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Randlepex!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Randlepex to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Randlepex trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Randlepex is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Randlepex throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A looping hook to the body misses from Johnson. Randlepex does a little dance to reset his feet.

Randlepex wants to pass to mount but Johnson is defending the position.
Randlepex is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Johnson pushes Randlepex off looking to stand but Randlepex dives back in and keeps control.

Randlepex not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Randlepex looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Johnson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Randlepex sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Johnson defending well though.

Randlepex is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Randlepex throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Kevin Randlepex dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Horrible takedown by Randlepex or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad.

Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Randlepex moves away.
Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Randlepex. Randlepex gets slowly back to his feet.
James Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Randlepex.
Randlepex misses with a hook. Johnson ducked under it nicely.
Johnson scores with a nice strike.


It looks like Kevin Randlepex has been cut.
Johnson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Randlepex.
Johnson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Randlepex looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson looks to score with a jab to the body but Randlepex is just out of range.
Johnson stuns Randlepex with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Randlepex moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Johnson moves into range and connects with a jab.
Randlepex is breathing heavily.
Randlepex takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Johnson lands with a right hand.
Randlepex slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.

Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Randlepex loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Randlepex not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Randlepex wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Johnson forces Randlepex back against the cage and clinches.
Johnson wants to get back to striking at distance but Randlepex won't allow it.
Randlepex goes for a takedown attempt but Johnson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
James Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Randlepex misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Johnson works Randlepex's body with a nice hook.
Johnson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Randlepex doesn't seem bothered though.
Johnson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Johnson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Johnson lands a really nice looking cross but Randlepex seems unphased.
James Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Randlepex lands a big shot there that rocks Johnson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Randlepex lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Johnson wants to try and get back to his feet.

Randlepex pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Randlepex lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

BOOM! Randlepex connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randlepex drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Randlepex postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Randlepex is keen to just control but Johnson is a slippery customer.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Randlepex connects with a nice short shot to Johnson's temple.
Randlepex wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.
Randlepex stalling away here and it's allowed Johnson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Randlepex closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Randlepex lands in his opponent's guard.
Johnson wants to stand up but Randlepex is controlling him.
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Randlepex throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Randlepex wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kevin Randlepex comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Randlepex has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
