And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Payne!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Booth.
Booth stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Booth wants it to stay on the feet.

Payne has managed to clinch.

Payne is fighting off a takedown attempt but Booth is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Payne to the mat. Payne regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Payne is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Booth has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Booth throws a strike aimed at the side of Payne's head but Payne avoids it well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Booth counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Payne fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice takedown defense from Payne. No joy for Booth on that attempt.

Booth has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Booth goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Payne rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Booth's guard! Nice work there by Payne!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Payne prevents Booth from getting back to his feet.

Booth throws and elbow that misses. Payne uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Booth's guard. Nice move by Payne!

Payne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Booth swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Booth is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Booth has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Booth has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Payne is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Payne has Booth pressed against the cage, preventing Booth from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Payne successfully pulls guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Payne throws a right hand that Booth ducks under and follows up with a left that Booth also avoids with ease.
Booth looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Payne is fending him off so far but Booth persists. Nope, Payne circles away and we're back to standing.

Booth shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Payne but Payne pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Payne tries to bum rush Booth with a series of wild strikes but Booth uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
