The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vlay throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Vlay looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A nice inside leg kick there by Vlay. That's going to slow Silva down.

Vlay fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Vlay persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Vlay looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Vlay looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Vlay is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Vlay is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Vlay is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vlay.

Vlay maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Silva could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Vlay has cracked it and Silva is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Vlay!
