Simpson has chosen Disturbed - Down with the sickness as his entrance music. Scott Broyles could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Gary Simpson's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broyles jabs at Simpson's body.
Simpson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Simpson keeps the fight on the outside.
Broyles is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Simpson tries for a takedown but Broyles sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Simpson shoots in for a takedown but Broyles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Scott Broyles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Simpson.
Simpson dives in and grabs Broyles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Broyles pushes down on Simpson's head and hops out.
Broyles wants to clinch.
Broyles wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Simpson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Simpson showed some decent athleticism there.

Simpson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Broyles has managed to free his arm - good work.
Broyles is trying to maintain the position but Simpson is very close to passing his half guard.
Broyles on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Broyles tries to get out of the position.
Broyles tries to kick Simpson off but Simpson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Broyles closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Broyles tries to bum rush Simpson with a series of wild strikes but Simpson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Broyles throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Simpson.

Broyles instigates a clinch.

Broyles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Simpson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A right-left combo lands from Broyles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Broyles lands a big head kick that sends Simpson tumbling to the mat! Broyles takes a step backwards and waves Simpson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Gary Simpson has been cut.
Broyles throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Simpson stumbling backwards into the cage! Simpson bounces back off the cage towards Broyles, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Broyles lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Broyles celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
