PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Tudeski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Everybody Knows. Tudeski has chosen I'm the champioen as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Tudeski!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tudeski slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jones throws a hook to the side of Tudeski's head but Tudeski sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tudeski moves out of range of the strikes.
Jones misses with a straight left.
Alex Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones dives in and grabs Tudeski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tudeski pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
Tudeski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Jones tries to clinch up but Tudeski circles away and keeps his distance.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tudeski's waist but Tudeski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tudeski closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tudeski avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tudeski just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tudeski but Tudeski pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Tudeski sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jones.

Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tudeski keeps working.
Tudeski is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jones has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Jones is trying to ground and pound but Tudeski uses the momentary lack of control by Jones to regain half guard.

Jones is looking to clinch but Tudeski is avoiding it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Tudeski avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tudeski to the mat! Tudeski manages to get full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Tudeski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tudeski is one step ahead there.
Tudeski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tudeski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tudeski wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jones.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tudeski is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.

Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jones is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Tudeski has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Poor strikes thrown by Jones there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Jones has gone for a leg lock! Tudeski slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard.

Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jones is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Tudeski has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Tudeski!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tudeski trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard.

Jones uses the cage to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alex Jones showed his dominance in that final round.
