Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Rader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tokugawa Ieyasu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Rader has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Justin Rader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tokugawa Ieyasu!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rader takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A lazy body kick from Rader
and Ieyasu counters with a two punch combo.

Rader decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rader looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rader has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ieyasu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rader. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rader is stalling here. Ieyasu is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rader seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ieyasu has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Rader is trying to control Ieyasu's posture but Ieyasu avoids it.
Rader is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ieyasu's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Rader wants to control but Ieyasu is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Ieyasu wants to work for an arm triangle but Rader is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Ieyasu is looking to take a break and control but Rader is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rader looks like he's trying to stand up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rader keeping hold of Ieyasu's head, controlling as best he can.
Rader wants to get back to full guard.
Ieyasu keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Rader is refusing to be controlled, as Ieyasu sits in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Ieyasu counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ieyasu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rader does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rader has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ieyasu is working away from the top position though.

Ieyasu is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Rader wants to control but Ieyasu is keeping busy.
Rader is controlling Ieyasu's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Rader is staying active underneath Ieyasu, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Rader is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Ieyasu counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Rader shoots and misses

and Ieyasu counters with a shoot takedown. Rader fights it but they end up in guard.

Ieyasu looking to sit in guard and control but Rader gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rader slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Rader wants to control from the top but Ieyasu keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tokugawa Ieyasu dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ieyasu swats away the attempt to clinch by Rader.

and Ieyasu holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rader fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Raderis looking to pass into half guard but Ieyasu pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ieyasu is in guard.
Rader looking for a sweep. Not yet Rader, not yet.
Ieyasu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ieyasu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rader's guard.
Ieyasu not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Rader makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rader.
Rader bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ieyasu's guard.
Rader thows a big elbow that misses.
Rader distracts Ieyasu with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rader trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Ieyasu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ieyasu has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Rader stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ieyasu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rader is working hard here to advance position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tokugawa Ieyasu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Rader closes the distance but Ieyasu moves to the side

and Ieyasu counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rader's guard now.
Tokugawa Ieyasu has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ieyasu seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rader stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ieyasu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rader wants to clinch.
Rader fails with the takedown

and Ieyasu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ieyasu trying to control but Rader is working from the bottom.
Rader is trying to control the position but Ieyasu postures up.
Rader looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Rader looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rader is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ieyasu postures up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rader is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ieyasu is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Rader is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Ieyasu moves into the clinch.

Tokugawa Ieyasu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rader tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rader is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ieyasu is controlling him.

Ieyasu is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ieyasu moves into the clinch successfully.
Ieyasu fails to pull guard.
Rader wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Justin Rader has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ieyasu is working for takedown but Rader is calmly controlling the position for now.
Rader scores with a hook to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tokugawa Ieyasu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ieyasu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
