PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikola Dragoslav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilkka Mursu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dragoslav might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Disturbed - Indestructible. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mursu shoots in and bounces Dragoslav off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Mursu with a nice head shot there.
Dragoslav looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mursu is one step ahead there.

Mursu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dragoslav is keeping the position for now.
Dragoslav knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mursu on the ground.
Dragoslav wants to stand but Mursu is controlling the position.

Dragoslav working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mursu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mursu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mursu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mursu throws a jab but it's blocked by Dragoslav.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters circling - Mursu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mursu is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Mursu slips a jab and a cross from Dragoslav.
Dragoslav throws a nice looking combination but Mursu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mursu throws a hook but Dragoslav avoids it easily.
Mursu misses the shot to the body.

Dragoslav decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mursu is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dragoslav's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dragoslav's back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mursu lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Dragoslav rolls, trying to escape but Mursu keeps control of the position.

Mursu lands a shot to the body.
Mursu is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Dragoslav up.
Dragoslav is trapped and Mursu is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Dragoslav covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Mursu has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Dragoslav.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dragoslav is covering up but some of the strikes from Mursu are getting through and doing damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mursu lands a good shot there. Dragoslav covers up! Mursu smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Dragoslav to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Mursu jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!
