The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ferraro tries to clinch up but Adams circles away and keeps his distance.

and Ferraro counters with a nice double leg into side control. Adams won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Despite being in the dominant position, Gomez Adams just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Ferraro counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ferraro.
Ferraro is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Adams is defending well for now.
Adams digs a right hand into Ferraro's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ferraro's gas tank.
Adams jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ferraro walks away with a smile on his face. Adams gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ferraro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Adams's waist but Adams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ferraro off to one side.
Adams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ferraro swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Adams bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ferraro is not content to let Adams control the position.
Ferraro is trying to control Adams's posture but Adams avoids it.
Adams is looking to take a break and control but Ferraro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Adams looks up at the clock and then as Ferraro takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Adams smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Adams decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ferraro to his feet.

Adams dives in and grabs Ferraro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ferraro pushes down on Adams's head and hops out.
