The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Smythinton stuffs the takedown.

Smythinton jabs Brown right on the nose. Brown blinks but takes it well.

Brown closes the distance and clinches.

Smythinton tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Smythinton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brown is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Brown is pushing Smythinton's head away, looking to escape. Smythinton manages to hold on to the position though.

Smythinton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brown, who protects the arm well.

Smythinton swings around for an armbar but Brown sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Smythinton's guard.

Brown gets to his feet - Smythinton follows without any prompting.
Smythinton works Brown's body with a nice hook.
Smythinton works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Smythinton lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Smythinton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smythinton lands with a nice combination. Brown backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Will Brown has been cut.

Brown has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Smythinton finds it's way round the side to connect with Brown's head.

Francis Smythinton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smythinton is looking to land body kicks.

Smythinton lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Brown backs up against the cage.

Smythinton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brown was covering up waiting for the punch and Smythinton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Brown seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Smythinton shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Brown is backing up but Smythinton catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Brown covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Smythinton Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
