Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richard Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kekoa Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kai closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Simpson to the mat! Simpson manages to get full guard.

Kai thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kai accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kai is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kai stands and steps away. Simpson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kai is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Simpson's half guard.

Kai is just content to waste time from the top position. Simpson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Kai drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Kai seems to have locked his on tight now - Simpson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Kai, as he picks up the win!
