The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macintye throws out a loose jab but English uses good head movement to avoid it.
English changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Macintye tries to avoid it but English manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Macintye to the ground. Macintye escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Macintye stuffs the takedown.
Macintye thuds a left hand into English's body.
English is breathing heavily.
Macintye punishes English's body with a nice straight punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Macintye cracks English with a big right hand and English goes down!

It looks like Luke English has been cut.
Macintye wants to get up but he can't break English's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
English fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Macintye avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke English. That's going to take a lot out of him.
English looks up at the clock. Bad move! Macintye lands a right hand from hell, dropping English. Macintye pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
