Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paula Abdul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Battling Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ace of Base - Beautiful Life kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paula Abdul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Battling Bob!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Bob changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abdul tries to avoid it but Bob manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abdul to the ground. Abdul escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice defenses there by Bob.

Bob closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Abdul to the mat! Abdul manages to get full guard.

Abdul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Abdul has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bob can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Abdul is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

BOOM! Bob connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Bob takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bob lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

It looks like Paula Abdul has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bob is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Abdul to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Abdul shrugs it off.

Battling Bob showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Donk. Abdul catches Bob right on the button with a cross.
A combination from Abdul does no damage.
Bob circles away from the clinch attempt.
Abdul avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Abdul misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bob.
Abdul takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Abdul misses with a series of wild punches.
Abdul stuffs the takedown attempt from Bob. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.
Bob looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Abdul is fending him off so far but Bob persists. Nope, Abdul circles away and we're back to standing.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Bob moves into range and clinches up with Abdul.
Bob wants to break the clinch but can't.
Abdul fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Paula Abdul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Battling Bob.
Bob wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Abdul has him pressed against the cage.

Abdul wants to control but Bob is having none of it.
Abdul regains half guard.
Abdul wants to get back to full guard.
Battling Bob is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Bob has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Paula Abdul has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Bob is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Abdul is just riding it out for now. Bob eventually gives up the hold.
Bob thows a huge punch but Abdul dodges it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Battling Bob.
I've got Bob winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
