Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Nokia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rogerio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nokia comes to the cage accompanied by It can't rain everyday - P.O.D. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Werdum. No joy for Nokia on that attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nokia.
Rogerio Werdum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Werdum tries for a takedown but Nokia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nokia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Werdum counters with a single leg into guard. Nokia didn't expect that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Nokia. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Werdum is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Werdum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nokia swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Werdum makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Nokia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Werdum on the ground.

Werdum is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Werdum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nokia keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Werdum has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Werdum has hold of Nokia's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nokia manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Werdum postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Nokia looks a forlorn figure.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Werdum has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Nokia has left one of his arms exposed and Werdum doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Nokia screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
