Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Crayon Mars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Blackz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackz misses with a double jab.
Blackz swinging wildly here.
Blackz slaps away a takedown attempt from Mars, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Blackz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mars.

Blackz lands a big right hand that sends Mars crashing to the mat! Blackz stays standing though and waves Mars back to his feet!

Mars is rocked!

It looks like Crayon Mars has been cut.
Blackz throws the left hand but Mars avoids the punch easily.
Oh Mars is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blackz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Blackz tries to clinch up.
Jacob Blackz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blackz misses with a two punch combination.

Mars closes the distance and clinches.
Mars seems to have got his legs back now.
Blackz gets underhooks to prevent Mars's takedown attempt.

Mars breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mars shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Blackz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mars misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Mars thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mars has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Blackz is not content to let Mars control the position.

Blackz is staying active underneath Mars, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mars looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blackz is fending him off so far but Mars persists. Nope, Blackz circles away and we're back to standing.

Mars shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Blackz defends it nicely.

The crowd cheers as Blackz lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mars doesn't seem phased though.

and Mars holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Blackz tries to break the clinch but Mars is controlling the position.

Blackz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Blackz misses with an uppercut.

Mars shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Blackz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mars working the ground and pound but Blackz is defending the strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blackz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Mars slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Blackz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Blackz loads up on a big right hand but Mars slips the punch.
Mars takes one on the button.

Mars forces Blackz back against the cage and clinches.
Blackz wants to get back to striking at distance but Mars won't allow it.

Mars keeps control of Blackz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Blackz can't get the takedown.
Blackz tries to break the clinch but Mars is controlling the position.
Mars is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Blackz pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Mars drops down looking for an ankle pick but Blackz pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Mars decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blackz's guard.
Mars thows a big elbow that misses.
Mars cracks Blackz with a solid left hand.
Blackz is looking to stand up but Mars isn't so interested in that idea.

Mars gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Blackz misses with a straight left.
Mars shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blackz sprawls well. Blackz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mars gets slowly back to his feet.
