Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shannon Bannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pol Rawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shannon Bannon!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pol Rawn!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rawn avoids a punch combination nicely.
A right-left combo lands from Bannon.


It looks like Pol Rawn has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rawn shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Rawn is working for a submission of some sort.
Rawn looks to land a strike but Bannon avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Rawn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rawn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Rawn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rawn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rawn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bannon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rawn, into his guard.

Rawn looking for a sweep. Not yet Rawn, not yet.
Bannon wants to get up but he can't break Rawn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Rawn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rawn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bannon!
Bannon tries to buck Rawn off but he can't manage it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rawn looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Bannon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rawn on the ground.
Rawn is looking to work his way around to Bannon's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rawn wants to control the pace but Bannon is squirming around nicely.
Rawn throws some wild stikes that Bannon manages to avoid easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bannon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rawn shoots in for a double leg but Bannon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Bannon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rawn.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bannon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No luck for Rawn with that takedown attempt.
Rawn closes the distance and clinches up with Bannon, looking for a takedown. Rawn pushes Bannon against the cage but Bannon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shannon Bannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pol Rawn.
Bannon tries to bum rush Rawn with a series of wild strikes but Rawn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rawn shoots for a double leg takedown but Bannon sprawls well. He's pushed Rawn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rawn is breathing heavily.
Rawn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bannon but Bannon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shannon Bannon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rawn tries to move into range but Bannon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Bannon misses with a series of wild punches.
Shannon Bannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bannon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bannon throws a right and a left that both miss.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

and Rawn counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bannon's guard now.
Rawn wants to control from the top but Bannon keeps moving.
Rawn is looking to work some ground and pound but Bannon has wrist control.
Rawn is stalling in the full guard.

Rawn stops Bannon from standing up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Rawn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bannon's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pol Rawn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Bannon uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Bannon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bannon tries to get out of the position.

Bannon is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Rawn is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bannon can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Rawn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rawn wants to control the pace but Bannon is squirming around nicely.

Rawn is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bannon is surviving well by controlling Rawn's body position as best he can.
Rawn wants to take Bannon's back here but Bannon is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Rawn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bannon is looking to escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rawn has hold of Bannon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bannon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rawn wants to control the pace but Bannon is squirming around nicely.
Bannon is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Bannon wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Rawn.

Rawn looking to isolate an arm here. Bannon doesn't see it coming and as Rawn extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Rawn!
