Penderash has chosen Earth People - Dr. Octagon as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lachance rushes Penderash and presses him up against the cage.
Lachance wants a takedown.
Lachance has had enough of the clinch but Penderash keeps him there for the moment.
Knees in the clinch landing for Penderash.
Lachance fails to pull guard.
Lachance throws a punch but it's blocked by Penderash.
Penderash tries to land knees in the clinch but Lachance avoids the damage to the body.

Lachance jumps into guard, dragging Penderash to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penderash trying to control but Lachance is working from the bottom.

Penderash avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Penderash trying to control the position from guard on top but Lachance is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lachance looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Penderash postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Penderash content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lachance has locked up a guillotine! Lachance's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Penderash is holding on here and Lachance must be using up a lot of energy. Penderash has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lachance gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
