The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rua tries to move into range but Contini moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Contini looks to land a left hand but Rua moved out of range nicely.
Rua tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Contini was well out of range. Poor timing from Rua.
Contini cracks Rua with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Rua gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Contini is trying to control the action in half guard but Rua is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Contini lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Rua changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Contini tries to avoid it but Rua manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Contini to the ground. Contini escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Contini is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Rua swings for the body but Contini moves out of range.
Contini ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Rua is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Contini.
Rua shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Contini connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rua's hands.
Contini throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rua on the side of the head.
Contini scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Rua is rocked!

Rua leaves his chin hanging out and Contini seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Rua crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
