Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ford Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Whopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ford Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Whopper!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Whopper showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ryan.
Ryan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whopper tries to avoid it but Ryan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whopper to the ground. Whopper escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ryan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Whopper sprawls well. Whopper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ryan gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Whopper. No joy for Ryan on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ford Ryan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Whopper swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Whopper stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Ford Ryan has been cut.
Whopper displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ryan.
Whopper uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Ryan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Whopper did well to prevent Ryan getting side control.

Whopper has one foot on Ryan's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Whopper connects with a crisp jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ryan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Ryan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ryan is breathing heavily.
Ryan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Whopper moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Whopper lands a two punch combo.
Whopper throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ryan on the side of the head.


Ryan is rocked!
Ryan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Whopper sprawls well. Whopper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ryan gets slowly back to his feet.
Whopper throws a monster overhand right that drops Ryan! Whopper follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Whopper!
