Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sparing Bjj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Serptentino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bjj comes into the arena with 50 cent feat. eminem, cashis & lloyd banks - You don't know blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparing Bjj!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jorge Serptentino!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Serptentino.
Jorge Serptentino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Serptentino doesn't manage to clinch there - Bjj circles away.
Serptentino plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Sparing Bjj has been cut.
Bjj keeps the fight on the outside.
Serptentino throws the kick towards the body but Bjj avoids it.
Serptentino throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bjj takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Bjj circles away from the clinch attempt.
Serptentino fails in his attempt to clinch.
Serptentino tries to clinch up but Bjj circles away and keeps his distance.
Serptentino shoots in for a takedown but Bjj shows good takedown defense.
Serptentino is looking to clinch.
Serptentino lands with a slapping head kick.

Serptentino tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bjj paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bjj is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Serptentino's half guard.
Bjj is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Bjj is looking to take a break and control but Serptentino is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bjj looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Serptentino is trying to control but can't.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Bjj decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bjj seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Serptentino does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bjj wants to pass the guard but Serptentino is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bjj is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Bjj moves to back control.
Bjj struggling to keep hold of the position.

Bjj is persistently looking for the submission but Serptentino is defending it well.
Serptentino tries to escape but Bjj has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bjj is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Serptentino knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Serptentino for a finish.
Bjj is hanging on to Serptentino's back as he tries to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Bjj counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Bjj is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Serptentino is just riding it out for now. Bjj eventually gives up the hold.
Bjj seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Serptentino does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Serptentino wants to improve his position but Bjj is controlling well.

Serptentino looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Serptentino is trying to get back to full guard.

Bjj is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Bjj trying to mount his opponent but Serptentino defends it.
Serptentino is trying to stand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Serptentino tries to clinch up

and Bjj counters with a single leg into guard. Serptentino didn't expect that.

Bjj trying to control the position from guard on top but Serptentino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bjj is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Serptentino is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Bjj wants to pass the guard but Serptentino is keeping the position.

Bjj postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Serptentino is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bjj, into his guard.
Serptentino wants to control from the top but Bjj keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bjj pushes a forearm under Serptentino's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Serptentino is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sparing Bjj!
