Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dusty Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alessio Delvecchio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rhodes comes to the cage accompanied by Freebird. Delvecchio is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Laura non c'e. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dusty Rhodes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alessio Delvecchio!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rhodes has managed to clinch.
Rhodes lands an elbow inside that Delvecchio shrugs off.

It looks like Alessio Delvecchio has been cut.

Rhodes is trying to trip Delvecchio. He has hold of a leg but Delvecchio is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rhodes persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Rhodes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Delvecchio is looking to stand up but Rhodes isn't so interested in that idea.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rhodes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rhodes could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rhodes throws a strike but Delvecchio rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Delvecchio is looking to stand up but Rhodes won't let him.
Rhodes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Delvecchio prevents Rhodes from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Delvecchio has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rhodes is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rhodes tries to close the distance and clinch but Delvecchio swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rhodes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Dusty Rhodes has been cut.

Rhodes gets the takedown into side control.
Rhodes landing a few strikes.
Rhodes throwing strikes but Delvecchio manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Delvecchio stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Delvecchio throws out a powerful jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Delvecchio dips to his left and cracks Rhodes with an uppercut!
A slapping leg kick lands for Rhodes.

Delvecchio scores with a sloppy right hand. Rhodes should have avoided that one.
Rhodes looks for a takedown but Delvecchio sprawls well.
Rhodes is breathing heavily.

Delvecchio lands a big shot that drops Rhodes! Can he finish him?

Dusty Rhodes's cut is getting worse.
Delvecchio would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Rhodes working a defensive guard here.
Delvecchio wants to get up but he can't break Rhodes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Delvecchio is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Rhodes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Delvecchio tries to stand but Rhodes is controlling from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rhodes is looking to score with low kicks.

Dusty Rhodes's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
