The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
maxwell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and maxwell wants it to stay on the feet.
maxwell keeps the fight on the outside.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but maxwell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smith misses with a wild combination.
maxwell doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Smith drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but maxwell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Smith has maxwell in his guard.
