Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcus Silver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edwards shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Silver is trying to defend but Edwards finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Edwards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silver sees it coming and defends easily.
Silver trying to hold on to Edwards's head to control him but Edwards postures up.
Silver is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Silver is trying to stand up here but Edwards is controlling him well.
Edwards throwing shots but Silver is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Edwards prevents Silver from standing back up.
Edwards is looking to take a break and control but Silver is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silver is trying to stand up here but Edwards is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silver shoots and misses

and Edwards decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silver's guard.
Edwards looks gassed!
Silver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Edwards is one step ahead there.
Silver avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Edwards trying to control but Silver is working from the bottom.
Silver is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Silver has his foot on Edwards's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Edwards works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silver is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Edwards is looking to work some ground and pound but Silver has wrist control.
Edwards postures up and lands a big shot to Silver's brow.
Edwards chips away with some ground and pound.
Edwards lands a couple of elbows.
Edwards must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Edwards postures up.

Edwards stands and steps away. Silver gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Silver throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silver lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


Edwards is rocked!
Silver throws a sloppy head kick and Edwards moves out of range easily.
Edwards takes a head kick and keeps coming.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silver fails with the takedown

and Edwards counters with a single leg into guard. Silver didn't expect that.
Edwards connects with a couple of short punches.
Silver trying to keep a closed guard but Edwards is proving a slippery customer.
Silver is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Edwards working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Silver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Edwards is one step ahead there.
Silver wants to stand up but Edwards is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Edwards wants to stand and escape but instead Silver has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Edwards wants to get back to his feet but Silver is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silver lands a head kick!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silver misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown but Silver shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Edwards will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Silver misses with a head kick.
Silver tries to close the distance and clinch up but Edwards swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silver pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Silver lands a big head kick that sends Edwards tumbling to the mat! Silver takes a step backwards and waves Edwards back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Edwards is still on wobbly legs! Can Silver finish him?
Silver seems to be stalking Edwards here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Edwards drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Marcus Silver!
