And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Quetzacoatl Smith!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Smith.
Velasquez takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Cain Velasquez has been cut.
A head kick misses from Smith.
Cain Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Velasquez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smith napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Smith is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Velasquez asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Velasquez decides to stand back up.
Velasquez is breathing heavily.
Smith throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Velasquez.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Velasquez moves out of range easily.
Velasquez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Smith scoring well with a low kick there.
Smith thumps Velasquez with a low kick.
Smith throws a leg kick which misses Velasquez's front leg but catches the back leg as Velasquez tries to avoid it.
Velasquez on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.

Smith lands a big head kick that sends Velasquez tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves Velasquez back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Smith lands with a thumping leg kick.
Smith lands a brutal head kick. Velasquez looks out on his feet and Smith throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
