Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Miren Amiano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre De Souza!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from De Souza.
Amiano stuns De Souza with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Amiano scores with a takedown into De Souza's guard.
De Souza trying to keep a closed guard but Amiano is proving a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
De Souza is pulling down on Amiano's head. It's preventing any offense from Amiano, at least for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
De Souza can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Amiano controls the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Amiano looking to sit in guard and control but De Souza gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
De Souza wants to control from the top but Amiano keeps moving.

Amiano looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Amiano throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! De Souza escapes and throws Amiano's legs to the side, diving into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miren Amiano dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Amiano comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
De Souza gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Amiano to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Amiano scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
De Souza is breathing heavily.

De Souza keeps Amiano under control for a moment.
Amiano trying to control the position but De Souza is working away.

De Souza is trying to control Amiano's posture but Amiano avoids it.

De Souza is being controlled here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
De Souza regains half guard there - taking advantage of Amiano's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
De Souza is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miren Amiano dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Amiano lands a jab to the head.
Amiano lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
De Souza gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Amiano counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Amiano counters with a nice double leg into side control. De Souza won't be happy with that.

Amiano content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
De Souza takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Amiano trying to control the position but De Souza is working away.

Amiano thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on De Souza's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Amiano controlling the position from side mount.
Miren Amiano is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Miren Amiano just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Amiano digs a good body shot into De Souza's ribs.
Andre De Souza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Amiano fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. De Souza looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

And that's the end of the fight!
Miren Amiano showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Amiano has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
