The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hartmanis clinches up with Geonosis and pushes him back against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hartmanis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Hartmanis throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Geonosiss head.
Hartmanis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Geonosis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Geonosis misses with an elbow over the top.
Hartmanis avoids a wild elbow strike from Geonosis.
Hartmanis lands with a light punch inside.
A frustrated look appears on Hartmanis's face as he tries to break the clinch.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hartmanis is looking to control Geonosis's arms but Geonosis gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hartmanis has his back to the cage.

Hartmanis pushes Geonosis back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Geonosis just misses with a elbow thrown towards Hartmanis's brow.
Geonosis wants to stall.

Hartmanis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Geonosis connects with a nice looking jab.
Hartmanis moves in looking to clinch but Geonosis pushes him off.
Geonosis shoots in for a takedown but Hartmanis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hartmanis tries to close the distance and clinch but Geonosis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Geonosis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hartmanis is looking to regain half guard here but Geonosis keeps moving and retains side control.
The ground and pound from Geonosis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hartmanis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Geonosis asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Geonosis is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hartmanis is trying to escape and Geonosis transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hartmanis is forced to tap! Nice work there by Geonosis! Very nice indeed!
