The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gougeon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gougeon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gougeon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Gougeon has eaten all the pies!

Gougeon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McFatterson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

McFatterson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gougeon defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McFatterson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gougeon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gougeon.
McFatterson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gougeon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gougeon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gougeon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McFatterson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
McFatterson wants to sweep but no luck.
Gougeon drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Gougeon seems to have locked his on tight now - McFatterson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Gougeon, as he picks up the win!
