The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stangel connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Stangel feints and then cracks Face's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Face down.
Stangel dodges the punch combination from Face.
Face avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stangel throws a head kick but Face moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Face darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stangel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Stangel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Face wants to land a leg kick but Stangel is out of range.
Face scores with a hook to the body. Stangel takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Face avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Face throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Stangel moves out of range as Face throws a body kick.
Face tests Stangel's chin there with a solid looking shot.

and Face counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Face stuffs the takedown.
Stangel wants to slow Face down by chopping away at his legs.
Stangel throws a head kick that misses.
Stangel closes the distance but Face moves to the side
and Face connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Stangel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
No joy there for Face, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Face counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Stangel throws a sloppy head kick and Face moves out of range easily.

Face lands a lovely overhand right.

Stangel is rocked!
Face is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Stangel had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Face connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Stangel! He's out on his feet! Face rushes in and drops Stangel with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
