PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Therman Goodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Enter Shikari - Ok Time For Plan B. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Black fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Goodson stuffs the takedown attempt from Black. Black gets slowly back to his feet.

Black throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Joe Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Goodson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Black to the mat! Black manages to get full guard.
Goodson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Black's guard.
Black tries to get to full guard but Goodson has control of the leg.

Goodson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Black tries to lock up and control but Goodson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Black gets caught flat footed, as Goodson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Black is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Black working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Goodson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Goodson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Goodson drops back looking for a leg! Black is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Black manages to kick Goodson off! Goodson jumps back into Black's guard.

Goodson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Black wants to sweep here but Goodson controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Goodson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Goodson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Black is just riding it out for now. Goodson eventually gives up the hold.

Black is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Goodson locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Black is forced to tap!
