Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Markus Bromley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Markus Bromley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wayne Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bromley is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.
Johnson wants to pass to mount but Bromley is defending the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnson connects with a nice short shot to Bromley's temple.

Johnson trying to work for an americana but Bromley has managed to regain full guard.
Johnson trying to control but Bromley is working from the bottom.
Johnson passes Bromley's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Bromley avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Johnson.
Bromley is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back!
Johnson turns into Bromley and is now in his guard.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Bromley keeps moving.

Bromley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Johnson throws a big right hand that misses.
Johnson wants to stand but Bromley has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Johnson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Bromley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bromley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Johnson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bromley's hands.

Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bromley pinned against the cage. Bromley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Markus Bromley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Johnson.

and Johnson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Bromley doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bromley!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson looking to control but Bromley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Bromley holds on to Johnson as tight as he can, avoiding damage.

Bromley is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action.

Johnson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Johnson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Johnson is landing with some decent strikes but Bromley is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wayne Johnson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Johnson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Johnson wants to control but Bromley is keeping him busy.
Johnson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Johnson is keen to just control but Bromley is a slippery customer.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bromley is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Bromley kicks off Johnson and gets to his feet.

Bromley fails with the takedown

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bromley's guard.
Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bromley pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage.

Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Johnson looking to sit in guard and control but Bromley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bromley defends it easily.

Wayne Johnson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bromley wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

Johnson has his foot on Bromley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bromley works his way back into a safe position though.
Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bromley stays in close to Johnson's body and controls the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson.

Bromley is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea.

Bromley scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bromley controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
Johnson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wayne Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Johnson cracks Bromley with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Johnson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bromley's head backwards.

Johnson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Johnson has hold of Bromley's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bromley seems comfortable defending it but Johnson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bromley is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bromley is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Johnson couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Wayne Johnson!
