The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chavez.
Chavez shoots in for a takedown but Volkov shows good takedown defense.
A jab from Volkov misses.

Volkov feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Chavez sprawling to the canvas! Chavez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Volkov finish him?!

It looks like Alfredo Chavez has been cut.
Nikolai Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big right from Volkov misses.

Volkov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Chavez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Volkov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Chavez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Volkov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Volkov loads up on a big right hand but Chavez slips the punch.

Volkov sends Chavez crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Volkov is motioning to the referee to let Chavez up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Volkov fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Chavez out cold! Brutal finish!
