Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pelps VL (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Conway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Conway will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conway avoids a punch combination nicely.

VL shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. VL showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. VL lands a nice short elbow.
VL sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Conway defending well though.
Conway is looking for a sweep. VL is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
VL trying to control from half guard but Conway is working away.
VL thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Conway connects with a body shot.

Conway lands a big uppercut and VL crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but VL looks OK. Conway waves VL back to his feet!

It looks like Pelps VL has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Conway moves into range and clinches up with VL.
VL is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
VL can't get the takedown.
Conway lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt VL or not.
VL is breathing heavily.
Conway leaning against his opponent.

Conway breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Conway connects with a stiff jab that staggers VL - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
