Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Maicon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zachariah Jabari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jabari is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Run this town. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jabari misses with a jab, cross combination.
Douglas Maicon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maicon with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jabari to score with a decent uppercut.
Jabari cracks Maicon with a right hand to the side of the head.

Jabari misses with a wild combination.
Jabari throws a hook but Maicon avoids it easily.

Maicon closes the distance and clinches.

Jabari's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Maicon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jabari is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
Maicon avoids the attempt from Jabari to control.

Jabari throws a hook to the side of Maicon's head but Maicon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Maicon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jabari is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Maicon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Maicon uses his free foot to push down on Jabari's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jabari.
Jabari tries to lock up and control but Maicon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Maicon is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Maicon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maicon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
